Heger's Dairy was established in 1947 by Willie Heger. He was looking for work after World War II and came across an advertisement in the Chaska Herald placed by Oak Grove Dairy. He started with just four customers.

In 1977, he passed the business over to his son, Tope Heger. Tope made some minor changes over the years including the route size, starting the route earlier, and adding more products to sell. Tope owned the business until 2000, when he partnered up with his son, Matt Heger. They worked together until 2005, when Matt took over completely.
